The Biomappers project recognises community gardens as ideal places where people can learn about biodiversity and actively contribute to its conservation. This handbook is intended for everyone involved in urban community gardens – gardeners, coordinators and facilitators – who wish to embark on a biodiversity mapping project and share their experience with others.
The Biomappers project is a European initiative under the Erasmus+ Adult Education Programme, Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships (2024–2026), which has involved community urban gardens in Rome, Vienna and Budapest in mapping biodiversity, thereby contributing to lifelong learning, environmental awareness and the promotion of biodiversity.
