Between November 2019 and February 2020, we held in Rome the ARTEM training courses with the participants of migrant origins, The courses were held at the CPIA Lazio 3, with the collaboration of Professor Francesca Checchi, and at the De Amicis Cattaneo Institute, with the collaboration of Professor Cecilia Bernabei . The courses saw the participation of 29 migrant students who carried out a pathway centered on self-discovery, the discovery of other cultures and intercultural awareness, through various non-formal education activities, in particular story mapping. Participants, aged between 18 and 62 and from 13 countries in Asia, Africa and South America, got involved with curiosity and commitment, building and telling their stories and travels, through digital maps. ARTEM courses have given them the opportunity to get to know each other better, to discover their differences and similarities, to bond new friendships, to become more aware of themselves and to put in value their talents. The new non-formal education tools proposed by ARTEM have had a complementary function for the learning in the schools in which they were used, contributing to the learning of the Italian language and the development of IT skills of students.
